Abstract
Maximizing solar energy utilization to maximize production is a critical worry to look for the world. Future technology will be based on solar or heliacal cell technology. As the light was not getting converted into power the operating temperature of solar cell started increasing and it began to convert into waste heat. Concentrated photovoltaic systems use a multi-junction tandem cell to convert light into electrical energy. Multi junction tandem cells have an efficiency of up to 40% in converting light energy into electrical energy, but only at low temperatures. Multi-junction cells lose efficiency as the operating temperature rises. To reach this low temperature, an efficient cooling system is needed. Various active and passive cooling techniques reviewed in the present paper. In passive cooling, effectiveness of extended surface, heat pipe and micro fins covered, whereas in active cooling Peltier effect cooling, compressed air etc. covered. This study will enable us to explore an effective cooling system for the proposed MJTCPVsystem to achieve the best possible efficiency. The review explores new insight of potential techniques to improve yield of the CPV
Keywords- Concentrated Photovoltaic System; Multi junction tandem cells.
