AN OVERVIEW AND QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF COTTON PROCESSING BY LOCAL CARDERS AT PINJANALAYA IN CONTEXT TO СARDING TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

This paper illustrates the need of improvement and optimization of cotton processing machine at Pinjanalaya and finding the scope of its modificationfor value addition ofthe lint cotton, saleble commercially as independentcommodity,usefulfor economic upliftment of farmers. Conventional carding technology and literature of various scholars are reviewed to find the guidelines in expected design, development and modification of carding machines of Pinjanalaya. An attempt is also made to distinguish between the latest carding system andunattended low cost technology used by local carders (Pinjaris).
