Abstract
Quality improvement is a highly derived objective in fiercely competitive international business with India being no exception. A considerable amount of various resources are being deployed by organizations of all sizes and types towards implementing quality management systems and other improvement strategies. Although globalization and liberalization have created opportunities for the industrial sector, India it also poses significant challenges especially in view of quality management issue. Based on extensive review and synthesis of quality literature, this paper identifies critical input factors that must be practiced to achieve effective quality management in small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs). A conceptual model was developed based on the numbers of hypothesis.
