Abstract
Posture State Variation Report [P-SVR] Method of analysis described here helps in evaluating the severity of work being done in a more comprehensive manner, in comparison to the existing methods based upon photographic technique. For reducing work severity, using P-SVR we can find out the elements of work, with highest severity and the longest duration of REBA or RULA score (or any method based upon photographic analysis of work severity). These can be analyzed further and improved upon to simplify the overall work content. Posture-State Variation Report [P SVR] method can be used as an extension of any method which uses photographic method for analyzing the severity of work content and which is based upon either random or periodic photographic analysis. The scope of this paper is limited to describe the newly defined P-SVR Method of analysis to highlight the areas for improvement in work process for operator comfort. This paper also provides an appraisal of literature regarding postural analysis and musculoskeletal disorders. This paper uses Rapid Upper Limb Assessment [RULA] and Rapid Entire Body Assessment [REBA] methods, which are based upon photographic method of analysis of work postures.
