Abstract

Lean Six Sigma is turning into the leading persistent melioration technique employed by firms in varied industries. From manufacturing to healthcare to IT and various other service industries, Lean Six Sigma maximizes potency and helps management at every step within the system. Lean Six Sigma is an approach that is focused on improving quality, increasing productivity and reducing cost in any organization. Lean Six Sigma is the combination of two different, but complimentary, approaches to continuous improvement. Earlier the organizations selected to use either Lean or Six Sigma wherever currently they need determined to use the alloyed techniques found in Lean Six Sigma. After certain studies firms have distinguished is that their output measures are quite higher while adopting Lean Six Sigma methodology rather than Lean or Six Sigma separately. The rationality behind this ratiocination is that both Lean and Six Sigma have their edges however conjointly their flaws whereas Lean Six Sigma simply incorporates the efficient techniques, principles and methodologies for persistent improvement. The study conducted in this paper is an attempt to explore the strengths and challenges of Lean Six Sigma implementation in manufacturing industries. It also discusses the set of tools and techniques which are feasible in the manufacturing environment that will help the academicians and practitioners for more competent execution of Lean Six Sigma.
