Abstract
In today's competitive and dynamic business environment, the terms like environmental; economical; waste reduction; cost optimization and continuous quality improvement have become the primary issues in manufacturing and service sectors. 'Green lean six sigma (GLS)' approach combines the methods and techniques of 'green', 'lean' and 'six-sigma' to achieve increased advantages of competitive business environment, In this paper, an attempt for the implementation of GLS concept has been made by identifying barriers in GLS implementation and levelling of these barriers. From the literature review and opinion of expert's, twelve barriers have been identified. ISM approach is used to form a hierarchical model of the identified barriers. Further, MICMAC Analysis has been done for better understanding of these barriers. Analysis of interaction and interdependence among these barriers may help the management authorities to plan and implement GLS concept in manufacturing and service sectors.
