Abstract
Reliability, availability and maintainability analysis identifies elements of equipment whose failure affects the availability, performing quantitative reliability analysis and proposes effective countermeasures in order to improve the system reliability and maintainability. In this paper an approach for reliability modeling using Reliasoft Blocksim simulation software is presented for automobile clutch. Only the corrective and preventive maintenance is considered for maintenance. The application is presented in a step by step manner and the results in terms of the overall system reliability, downtime, and corrective/ preventive maintenance actions are presented. The result shows that the simulation modeling is more scientific for reliability, availability and maintainability analysis which can further help for maintenance decision.
