Abstract
In the recent past the world came to an unimaginable halt due to a contagious invisible virus that affected not just one but all countries and global trades, it made us aware of our negligence towards our resources. The worst impact of this pandemic is visible on the industrial sector which was brought to almost cessation; especially many Indian MSMEs are on the brink of obliteration due to huge financial losses. Industries all over the world are facing a lot of challenges to achieve better productivity and customer satisfaction due to increasing necessity and demand for more reliable products at minimal cost. This is not only applied to pharmaceuticals or transportation industries but to all sectors such as Manufacturing, energy, logistics, automotive, textiles, food processing and agriculture. The COVID-19 calamity has had a substantial impact on the Indian economy and triggered unprecedented policy responses across the sectors. With evident effects on the manufacturing industry manifested until the mid of 2021, So this paper aims to address the key impacts of Covid-19 on Indian economy as a whole and specifically challenges faced by manufacturing industries. The paper also highlights few notable recommendations for sustainable development in the Indian manufacturing industries.
