Abstract

The multi-fault in rotating machinery is any combination of a single fault such as unbalance, misalignment, bearing fault and looseness. Multifault scenarios are particularly important to study as they can be more challenging to identify and can lead to complex interactions within the machinery. In this study, Fault Source Identification Tool (FASIT) is used to identify the machine condition and multi-faults in rotating machines. FASIT tool shows the severity level of fault. Severity level trend and spectrum graph are used to identify the vibration source. It is observed that the rotating machines have more than one vibration source. The vibration spectrum and severity level trend showed that unbalance, mechanical looseness, bearing fault and misalignment developed excessive vibration in the system.
